Real Leadership for Allentown

Picture
Allentown City Hall has become inaccessible to city residents; emails go unanswered, phones aren't picked up, and our leaders are nowhere to be found when we need them.

For Ed Zucal, service is more than a word, it's been his entire life. That's why he'll restore accessibility to Allentown, starting with an open door policy for his office and all of city hall. That's how we make Allentown work for everyone.

The people of Allentown have lost the trust of city hall and their elected officials; investigations are shut down, questions are ignored, and legal fees pile up. It's time for change.

As a member of Allentown City Council, Ed Zucal has been a champion for transparency. He has led the charge to investigate the growing list of accusations made by city employees, and he's taking on the special interests who cut to the front of the line when it comes to accessing city leadership. As mayor, Ed will create a new era of transparency for Allentown government.

The people of Allentown are feeling the squeeze from a steadily rising cost of living. Despite this, some elected officials, including Mayor Matt Tuerk, have proposed massive new tax increases to fund unneccesary spending.

Ed Zucal has fought against wasteful spending and tax increases while working to ensure that critical services like police and fire get the resources they need. As mayor, he will work every day to restore common sense to city budgeting and protect taxpayers from unnecessary tax increases.

For years, elected officials in Allentown have ignored questions, avoided difficult topics, and refused to take accountability for problems in the city. Just like he always has, Ed Zucal will answer to the people of Allentown. He won't avoid the tough questions and he'll always hold himself accountable.

As a former Allentown police officer, Ed Zucal knows how important it is that residents know the police in their neighborhoods. When police work together with residents to address quality of life issues, it makes for safer, happier, and more prosperous communities. That's why Ed will return Allentown to a community policing model and prioritize addressing the quality of life issues that lead to much more serious crimes.

Allentown's youth are struggling. Our city ranks among the highest in the state for child poverty, and the numbers are getting worse. Ed Zucal knows how important it is that children have access to good opportunities. That's why he's committed to investing in new and existing youth programs that can keep kids off the streets and set them on the pathway towards a better future.
